Alexander the Thirsty?
According to Historians heat and thirst killed thousands of Alexander the Great's men as they crossed the Gedrosian Desert. At one point a group of soldiers found a little water and scooped it up in a helmet. Then they offered the water to Alexander. In full view of all his troops he poured the water on the ground. So extraordinary was the effect of this action that the water wasted was as good as a drink for every man in his army. What would you have done? Would you have drank the water? Why or Why not? What does this say about Alexander as a leader?

i would not have drank the water because everybody was in it together and no one man should have gotten it over the other. It says he knows every one is suffering and he should not have to be singled out as the one thirsty man to drink. Every one in his army should be treated equal.

we would give it to the army. Because we would care for our members of our army. That shows that Alexander was not a good leader. Because if he would waste that only water that he could had gave to his army isn't showing good leadership.

Our group decided we would not drink the water because it would not be fair for one person only to drink it. This shows us that he was unselfish and in some ways wise. If he drank the water people may get mad and riot or fight back and he may loose his army.

We wouldn't drink from the helmet because it wouldnt be fair to all the other soldiers.And it would show that we were braver than someone who would drink it.
We think that he didn't drink it because if they all had one drink than they would want more and get even more thistier.

We would of drank 1 sip and then given some to the other soldiers who found it. We also think he was selfish for just wasting the perfectly good water. Period 6. :)

We would drink some of the water, but not all of it because the men needed some. He was confident that everyone didn't need water. Alexander was a good leader because he spread ideas and built cities.

We think alexander is good because if there isn't enough water for everyone in his army he wouldn't accept it. we would have done the same thing.

If we were Alexander we would have poured out the water so that it would be fair for everyone. Everyone wouldn't have been able to get something to drink so we would have felt bad for everyone.

I would have done the same thing as Alexander because there is not enough water for everyone and pouring it on the ground was like having a sip of water.
