Feudalism Fair?
We have spent the last 4 weeks talking about Feudalism: The government of the Middle Ages. We have compared Feudalism to a chess board with the King on top and the Pawns on the bottom. But was Feudalism GOOD or BAD? How would your opinion differ if your were a lord? A serf? Use examples from the book.

Chess Construction Kit
We have talked in class about chess as a metaphor for Feudalism in Medieval Europe. The history of the game is much older dating back to 7th century India. Over the years new pieces or 'alternatives' have been added to the board changing the game. Explain your new pieces here and how they changed the game. Which new piece was your favorite? Whose piece do you think would win: yours or your classmates?
