Chess

While their are many similarities between chess and FEUDALISM historians believe the game of chess began in India before the 7th century. This original game, called 'CHATURANGA' included pieces like the 'Ferz' or general and the 'Alfil' or elephant. These pieces were later replaced for more powerful ones but over the years many variations of chess have included new and creative ideas. Consider the 'Winter Witch' that can freeze other pieces standing next to it; or the 'Joker' that can move just like the last piece moved by your opponent.

What would your new chess piece be called? What special moves would it have? Which piece would it replace on the board? Where did you get the idea for this piece? Use your imagination.
Comments:
The Dragon takes out three people within itself. If it moves, it moves one space at a time in any direction. The Dragon can't jump.

The Falcon Featherwil be able to jump (fly) and anything it jumps over it will take and the space it lands on. Plus its own pieces. It can move two up and two over.

DEMON PIG: this player can move any where on the board but not untill there is 5 peices left on your team in the game this player represents a queen in various ways.
THE DEVIL: this piece can move anywhere. He can not jump other players pieces and this piece can olny be used four times in one game.

the winged knight can move like a queen, and can only move 3 spaces at a time. But can jump over people. But if a pawn is with in an L shape it can over tur the winged Knight

backwards.
Kiersten- My piece is called the kangaroo. It can jump and it replaces the rook.

The Flying Monkey can fly over three spaces at a time and land on the piece that is on the third square.

The Spy looks like pawn, but has a red dot on the top. It can move like a queen but can also jump. It can jump any piece but the king. On the Spy's first move, it can be taken off the board and on its next turn, you can put it back on the board on any empty square.

Holy Cow: Can only move one space but on front and back and would replace the rook.

Lay Up:Move down any number, then diagonal 3 at most or vise versa. Can jump over any piece and kills when it jumps on the square theat the piece is on. It would replace the knight and bishop. It would be like your running down the basketball court on a fast break and going in for a lay up.

Dragon: My piece can move any # of spaces forwad of diagonally in both direcvtions, This piece can only move one square backwords, it is an attacking piece.

'CLOWN': this piece looks like a joker. It moves 1 space then moves 2 diagonile spaces away. Also, if it jumps over another piece, it can take that piece but it has to stay in the pieces prevese spot.

'LONG JUMP RABBIT': this piece 'hops' over two squares and then it goes etheir left or roght. But it can only jump 2 squares per turn. It also replaces the knights.

' THE FISH': it can move one space in any direction. Also it is allowed to hook oppents and reel them to it, but only one space away, to attack it.

the bobafet can move any where on the board any number of spaces and can use the oponents piece against its own team but this power can only be refuled by capturing another oponents pieceand can move diagonal any way and it replaces the knight and can only becaptured by a bishop or a rook.thebobafet is worth 10 pts.

Heartcake(shantel):*The heart cake will look really tasty to all the other pieces and they will try to eat it but the heart cake is like a time bomb and will blow up any piece that is next to it the bad part is that after it blows up it dies!

(Sydney)* Bomb Any piece that is one space next to it, will blow up. but unlike the heart cake, it is still alive, but it can't attack until two turns later. if it doesn't want to demolish and blow up people, it simply rolls under them. it may move in any direction one time.

(julia) Tinkerspell* the tinker spell will be just like the knight so it moves in an L shape but when one square away from any piece she puts a spell on them and they become mine!

(Justin) organe Bowl* the organe bowl can not move to the right. but can only move 1 space the first time on unlimeted the rest it can only attact backwards.

Sam- My piece is called the executioner. It moves one space forward, backward, or diagonal. It can take a pawn standing 1-3 spaces in front of it. It can only be aquired if a pawn from the opposing team captures a piece of higher value. Then, it takes that pawn and takes its spot on the chess board. I got the idea from the real executioners in feudalism who killed the peasants when they commited crimes.

Taylor- My piece is called the Ranail. It can move two spaces any way, except it cannot move forward then diagonal or diagonal then forward. It would replace the castles. I got the idea from thinking of something that would rhyme with a friends middle name.

Olivia :) - My piece is called the Olivester. It can move any number of spaces in any direction (like a queen), also it can jump over pieces like a knight, but yet it cannot jump over its own pieces. I got my idea from a jokester that is tricky because it yet can jump over pieces while going any number of spaces. It would replace the queen on the board. YAYAY!!!!

Chris's piece is called the Warrior. It can't be attacked by pawns since it is the commander. It can move a total of 5 spots in any direction and can jump over your own pieces.

Kyle's piece is called the Squire. It moves almost like the knight but instead of going 2-1 or 1-2 spaces it can move 1-1 2-1 or 1-2.

Matt's piece is called the Trebuchet. When it moves it can't attack but moves 1 spot anyway. When it attacks it doesn't move and "throws" a rock at an opponent diagonally, horizontly, or vertically 4 spaces(attacks like Queen without moving.

Gabe's piece is called the Orc. When it moves it moves forward twice then can move diagnolly twice in any direction. When it attacks it jumps one square then comes down and stabs(metaphorically) the piece in its way.

Cassey- My piece is called the Stealer. It can move in any direction, but it can only move one space each turn. When the Stealer takes a piece he has that piece's abilities. Every time it takes a new piece, it gives up its ability it has and takes the ability of the other piece. It would replace the queen's piece. I got the idea from thieves in the towns of medevil times.

The Jester: This piece can only move three spaces, but only in a diagonaly way. It has to move diagonl one way, then another and then another. This piece always stays on the same color. There are two for each side, and worth 3 points.

The Royal Guard can move 3 spaces in any direction and it can leap 5 spaces in any direction and it kills every piece it leaps over except the pieces on its own team. The Royal Guard can attack in any direction.

Ye Olde Mastermind can move any direcion like a queen but can also jump over any amount of pieces. On a jump it can not attack and it can only attack a piece within 3 spaces of it.

The Carrige can move forward, right, or left. It can move 2 spaces either way, but must stop after its first hit. Some limits are not being able to go backwards, and when it gets to the other side, it can only go right or left.

The CATAPULT can move 2 spaces forward or 1 any direction and can attack 5 spaces away but can't move when attacking.

Yes, We think the war in Iraq is like the crusades. No we are not justified in being there because we could stop them from attacking if the come over here in the United States. Plus we are killing innocent Iraqi's. In the Crusades they killed anyone and everyone in there paths. The crusaders also torched and murdered innocent people. So neither of us are really fighting for freedom or forgotten.
